Elizabeth, I took your advice about the waterfall. I think it will create more problems than it will do good. So I decided to Macgyver my own little fog/waterfall system. And it only cost me about $35. It works great, I'll take a pic and post it as soon as I get a chance.
These are the materials I used:
- 4"x4"x3" thin plastic paint tray.(it ways about 4g).(1$)
- Double sided tape(3ft roll for 2$)
- Exo-Terra Fogger (28$)
- Water tray (4-5$)
I mounted the plastic paint tray with double sided tape about 8-9 inches above the water dish, the tray and dish are in parallel corners. I put the fogger inside the tray that is above the water dish, so that when then water spouts out it drips into the water tray creating a small waterfall type effect. Also this way the entire cage fills with fog instead of just the bottom of the cage. It works great and keeps the humidity level at a steady 80% for about 4-5hours, and it drops to about 65% after about 7hrs. This saved me about 40$, and Morgana can still dunk her head in the water dish! The water that shoots out of the fogger is about 60C(140F), so using Newtons Cooling Law, by the time it takes to fall from the upper dish to the lower dish it will be roughly 90F, so it is not dangerous if Morgana goes underneath it.
I use Bed-a-Beast for substrate so it seems to soak up any extra drops of water pretty easily. Although I think I'm going to need to add another 1/2-3/4" more substrate. Currently I have about 2inches.
I haven't seen Morgana this active since I got her! She was walking up and down her branches, and checking out both her food dishes just to make sure her lunch was still there, I even caught her getting rowdy with a leaf! I didn't know these herps played with foliage, or maybe she just thought it was threatening her(she was batting at it with her hand).
Many thanks to everyone who has been helping me through this! I honestly could not have done this without your guy's/gal's experience and advice!
