Apparently Fins n' fangs the pet store you called with the HL's has been evicted, and I was wondering how long ago you called them to see their inventory, and if you think that it may be possible to still get a hold of them to get an HL. Sorry for not responding to your Email.

Hi Geckoboy,
I don't know the owners personally so I don't know how you'd get hold of them. I think you might find that buying HL's this time of year is just next to impossible. And that is probalby a good thing. If you could find them they'd likely be the worst specimens available.
You only have a couple of short months to wait and they will be available again.
If you like I can point you to a location that is only a few hours drive from your house where you can likely find some that are legal to catch and keep, at least for the time being. They won't be out till spring though.
They will be pretty much the same thing you can buy (DHL's) but at least you can ensure they are healthy. Also, you could probalby put together a pair if you learn to tell them apart.
Either way you'll probably have to wait for them. Spring is just around the corner.
If I can ask one thing of you, could you take a pic or two of the ants in your area you plan to feed them and post it on this board?
