Boelens question...

carl3 Jan 10, 2004 12:04 PM

Can anyone recommend a good breeder?
Also, what is their average price range?

Quick history of boelen's. They almost never reproduce in captivity. I know of one confirmed clutch (of 1 animal) and I know someone else who is claiming a cb clutch, but the details on them is not something I know.

So if you want to know of a good breeder who consistantly produces quality boelens... there aren't any.

People must buy wild caughts? right? If so, how much do wild caughts typically cost? OR are they protected?

just curious

thanks in advance

Most of the Boelens coming out of indonesia are either captive hatched or w/c.

I believe there is a quota of Zero for Boelens this year.

I suggest that if you want a pair of them, get yourself a big stack of money and be ready to buy them at a moments notice. They won't be available often and they'll be VERY expensive.

Doug's right, there are NO boeleni coming out of indo this year and perhaps for years to come. You're gonna have to hope somebody either sells an existing collection or manages to breed them in captivity.
