Well I went to the Reptile expo! It was pretty fun, except I olny got to get a female leopard gecko. But oh well...anyways my male seem to have bitten her about 2 times. Is this normal.....Im really worried. He already killed another leopard gecko when they were babies by bullying.... This is really worrying me. But he seems to have stopped, but Im still really worried...

The male seems to have calm down. They are still kid of skittish around each other but do you guys think they will be ok?

Thanks!

You've already been told this, what is it exactly that you do not understand?

Jesus. Pray for me. I will keep my cool, and let the oceans of calm wash over me and through me until I am at one with the universe.

You've been around the forums for a while ... you've done some research ... QUARANTINE!!!

You can't just bring a new animal home and throw it in with an existing one. All it takes is 1 sick leo and you'll lose many more then you'd care to think about.

Get that female out, now, and don't put her back in for 2-3 months.

After that, then you could look out for the behaviour you are describing, which sounds to me like mating behaviour.

The males always seem to rough up the females, but don't worry, then can take it. If they want to be mated, they usually let the males rough 'em up a bit, then they'll start mating. If they don't want to mate, they'll usually scurry away and fight back till the males leave them alone.

The behaviour you are describing natural, and, though it looks frightening, let them do it. After you quarantine new animals.

OOPS, Ok I'll use my extra 10 gallon tank.
Thanks!!

If you've had them together since x-mas and he's not being agressive, i would just leave them together. In that much time your other geckos probably would have already caught what she might of had. I just by my leos from trusted sites. Besides it sounds to me like there breeding. Leave them alone. Was your male alone before u put the female in?? In my exper. males that are alone tend to give a lot of attention to females for awhile.

First of all where is he biting her? I wouldn't be to worried about this. My females have bite marks on there head and neck. Thats a good sign that there breeding. There bight marks will generally go away when they shed next.

I just got her today. My dad said I wont need to quarinitne b/c he asked the breeder and the person said that he keeps them all single in a tank . He bit her in the body , and once on the tail. Im still kind of worried though. The female seems to just stay in one spot..? Doesn't this mean shes stressed out? Like I mean shes not even in the hide outs nor the basking light. Just a corner...

Thanks!

Almost all geckos get stressed out from moving homes. I'd remove her and put her in your 10 gal, cuz the male will just stress her out even more.

Stress = compromised immune system, which will lead to the gecko being prone to disease, and may even cause death.

Wow this is really weird.. everytime after I post somthing good seems to happen lol. Well shes on top of the basking stone now

Thanks!

Keeping the leos in separate enclosures doesn't mean anything. All it takes is for the caretaker to clean out one leo's tank and then proceed to contaminate the food and enclosures of all the other leos.
