Comment about mngrivera's recent Lose

I'm so very sorry ! Such a darn shame. But I would like to say this, and put it up here, so as not to be lost.

I have heard alot of this in my travels, to many forums.

It is NOT just cats, on the collared forum it was a dog, of a good buddy. German shepard, Actually jumped through the glass to get at the lizard.

Beautiful female collared dead. The dog had to be taken to the vet to have glass removed, from him. Owner to say the least was horrified !

I think if you notice, your dog or cat paying the lizards a bit TO MUCH attention, while your there, then don't let them have access to the lizards when your not there.

Better yet keep the lizards in an area away from cats and dogs whenever ya can. Or a room with a door that can be SHUT when you are not there. I also have cats and dogs, thats why this was on my mind !

Very sorry, for you and the kids, feel better soon. And hope soon you can get a new beardie friend

I too lost a baby to the cat once. I was a bit upset but in the end it was not the cats fault is was mine. I should have and now do more to prevent another "accident". I took it as a lesson learned. It's about the only good thing to come out of a situation like this.

Thank you and I totally agree. Because of my layout the house and how it gets cold in here its hard to confine the cats while we are asleep. Closing doors closes some of our heat access. We have the tank in the living room where they get alot of interaction from all of us but there is no door to close it off. Geo our munchkin had been courious of them but he'a a pretty big fat lazy cat without much of a hunter in him.We have to wave a feather fouriously at his paws before he even will slap it. But when Smokey came he was all about the hunt of everything. He roamed at night through cabnets and on top. I don't know how many things have been pushed to the floor because of him-BUT he was a good cat. Really sweet and I don't think that I counted on him getting through the screen. I take the fault in this- I should have known. Though we took him to the adoption center here- it was better than throwing him outside where my husband had intended to do. We had been trying to see about giving him to someone but we hadn't found a home. My dogs don't stay inside though they a really sweet also and housebroken. The lesson was learned- but it was a hard one. Stil tearing up here for the little guy. And we had intended to get another one anyways but for sure I need one. I miss him. And so does my son. He went out to pray again on his grave today and came in with his face wet. We will probably get another tank and set up then look around in a few weeks. Thanks evryone again.

Will always tear at my heart. I used to have a parrot years ago, she stayed out on a stand in my bedroom with her own big tree also. My dog also was always in the room to sleep so forth.

After 10 years of those 2 being together, one day the dog was eating a bone or something, and I walked out of the room. I came back to find my girl warm and dead within a 5 minute time span. She apparently flew down to see what the dog was eating and he grabbed her out of the air defending his food. And snapped her neck.

Well I cant even tell you how sick I was, at the moment, I hated him, It was such a shock, I had just seen her minutes before.
Well enough of that.

So I guess hearing your sad story made me remember, and what we all have to understand is no matter how much we love all these guys, cats, dogs, lizards, birds whatever, just because they all live in the same house does not mean we can TRUST THEM to NOT hurt each other !

They will if given the chance (sometimes) so we have to be careful, I also learned the hard way, to be CAUTIOUS thats all !

Glad your getting another baby and like i say, be sad but get happy again soon !
