I've been practicing taxonomy for 12 years now, and because of the plant group I work with I'm in deep in regards to nomenclature...no one, and I mean no one knows the "only" way to pronounce Latin and Greek names. Just use a pronunciation that most persons are using or one where people understand what you're saying. The important part is the way it is written anyway (one of the basic reasons behind the binomial system), and not how the words are pronounced.
If anybody argues differently or is hard-nosed about it then ask them to produce their ancient Roman friend who is in town - because when Rome fell the language became diluted through the influences of other cultures. There a alot of different schools of thought on this but no one really knows so don't sweat the small stuff.
Personally I say ka lu (or lew) brid.
It's a pet peeve of mine for people to insist that there is one way to say it when it's impossible to know.

Its kinda like the Igor or Eyegor thing. Say it how you want.. I hear it every which way. Mostly CO LEW BRID... But I find it easier to pronounce it CO LUH BRID. Nobody has shot me for it yet.
