Hi, Nice tank!. I was looking at your nebulizer and your computer fans...
did you try to place your fogger underneath the tank or at the same level...I am wondering if the fog would reach up that high if you were to place it underneath???

I am not sure I can figure out where and how you placed the fans. Are they on the top cover of the terrarium, blowing down in the terrarium? When the light canopy is closed, are the fans inside the canopy?

ill get a better picture for you tonight. the fans are mounted onto the lid on my tank. what i did was i bought a router attachment for my dremel. i drilled a little hole where i wanted it do be center, i took a little peice of lexan, drilled a holeand put a screw through the lexan and bolted it to the hole i drilled in the acrylic lid. i measured 1 1/2" and took my xacto knife and made a little hole (the opening of the fan is 3" round). and i made a few passes around that area to make a few light cuts so i knew where to cut. i took my dremel cut out the hoel then drilled 4 holes to mount it and put mesh underneither the fan so nothing and get out or get into the fan blades and mounted it onto the lid. so when the canopy is closed nothing is visible but the canopy. you cant the light fixture, plumbing, or fans.

the mister blows from the top down into the tank. i do not use a fogger in the bottom of my tank. (the mist goes from the mister to the tubing, tot he canopy, to the pvc, then enters the tank. ill also get a misting picture for you as well.

and the fans are blowing into the terrarium. becuase in high humidty water tends tro beed up or fog the glass. the fans get the water off the glass.

Pictures are always welcome..i have been following your progresses regularly...

What I meant by placing the fogger under the tank was to put the unit in a cupboard underneath the tank with a longer tube going up so it is out of sight and does not take room behind or besides the tank.
For the fans, I was not sure if you used them to cool of the light or to defog the glass...How much of a draft does it creates in the enclosure? Do you regulate their speed?
(As you can guess by my questions, I am super new at this...Don't have a tank yet but thinking of creating something very similar to yours...)

orthopode,

I use a 1.7 gal. Sunbeam Ultrasonic humidifier I bought from Walgreens. Total height, from the floor ( where the humidifier is placed ) to the highest point where the hose runs from the fogger and curves back down into the vivarium, is 67 inches. I also have about 14 inches of slack in the hose which needs to be cut off so all together the mist has about 8.5 feet of hose to blow through which includes the 67 inches in height. Initially I was concerned the humidifier wouldn't have the power to push through that much hose but the mist blasts right out and fills my 100 gal. is just 2 minutes.

the fans do both, cool the lights put fresh air into the canopy which is blown in to the tank to defog the glass. im later going to make a stand for it but until then this is my set up. this is my first dart tank.

to regulate the speed i got a ac-dc convertor from radio shack that runs 300 ma with 7 different settings, its about $14 each. but i have them wired to one convertor. i sould get another and have the one fan run constantly to keep the light cool. so far that little plant in there hasnt even moved with the fans on so its no a big draft.
