Cypress Mulch and Afircan rock pythons

anyone05 Jan 10, 2004 07:11 PM

Hello,

i just purchased some cypress mulch from home depot and was wondering how safe it is to use in my terraium with my python. I have read awhile back that if you bake it in the oven or nuke it in the microwave it should be fine, or does anyone have any better suggestions for a type of bedding?

thank you for your time

Jorge

hello i have been using cypress mulch in my cages for 2yrs with out nuking or baking it i have never had a problem with the mulch or my animals in that time. only thing i would suggest is that during feeding remove the snake to do this just for the reason that he or she does not by chance eat any mulch when while taking down a prey item. good luck in the future with your animals and hobby
