just finished new tank with tile substrate, what do you think?

savigeckolvr Jan 10, 2004 07:29 PM

Here is my new setup, its a 20 gallon long with tile substrate and the decorations shown. How do you think it turned out and do you think I should change anything around? It has an UTH on the side with the light. Thanks for any feedback and if anyone is thinking about using tiles they work great. I used 12x12inch tiles, so it worked out great because we only had to make on cut

that looks really good!

i changed mine to tile tonight too!
i am too tired to take pictures tho.

i really didn't like the idea of going to tile at first, but the more i thought about it, the better it sounded. i think i am gonna really like it and i know my geckos are already liking it

Good for you It looks better than paper towels imo and is almost as easy to clean. My gecko seems to like it too as I have it in his 10 gallon as well. I am planning on getting 2 or 3 females to put in this tank eventually.

OK I will try to rearrange it so it will fit on the warm side by maybe moving the big log hide to the middle. Thanks for the input

That looks great! I just switched to tile too (in fact I just put Corina in her "new" tank last night). We have very similar setups actually. I'm curious what your temps are w/ UTH and light. I find that mine get too hot so I'm actually not using my UTH.

Also, what type of light (watt, etc) are you using - and what type of UTH?

Thanks in advance, and the setup looks great!

The temps run about 80-85 during the day and about 70 F at night. I use a 60 watt bulb and a zoo med UTH made for 10-20 gallon tanks.
