first aid box revisited...

lele Jan 10, 2004 08:17 PM

our ever efficient Maggie made this inquiry a few posts ago and got only one response. I have decided to bring it up again, b/c I would like to hear other repsonses, too. (Jovana, not that your items were not good ones I just would like to hear a variety).

So all you experienced (or not so experienced ) cham keepers let us know what is in YOUR first-aid kit! here is her original post: (btw, maggie - your cham is going to be one lucky fella/gal!)

"What are the items that a Chameleon owner should always have on hand for emergancies? And where can I find these items? I do already have these for other herps(don't even know if Chameleons ever use these): Panacur powder, Baytril Suspension drops, Silver sufadiazene Cream. Thanks again, Maggie"

I didn't know if it was too dumb of a question, or too basic or what that just one person(though very valuable reply nonetheless)replied. Hopefully, since you asked for me again, we might have a few more answeres! BTW, if only I could be 1/2 as knowledgeable as you-then will I consider my new Kammerflage Male Panther to be lucky! I feel, I have the better end of the stick right now and aim to make a kind of a home for him that he deserves!

Hi Maggie,

My motto: the only stupid question is the one you never ask! How else will you learn?? Sometimes a post goes unnoticed b/c we are such a chatty bunch, as I am sure you have noticed, that the post just zip by! Never hesitate to re-post if you got insufficine tresponse - or, if you think someone in particular canhelp you either direct the post to them and/or email them privately.

As for my knowledge...I only got into cham's a year ago. I had had other herps throughout my life and had wanted a veiled since I was a kid (once I learned that an anole, which back in the 60's was called a chameleon, and a "true" chameleon were two totally different creatures!). I have to say that the much of my knowledge has been my own research, but even more comes from the help on this forum. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even have Luna if it weren't for this forum b/c I adopted her from another member!

So when does your newbie arrive?
