Inferalanis

Homer1 Jan 10, 2004 08:31 PM

Here are some pics of my Inferalanis Tincs I picked up at the Indy Show last month. They're filling out well now.

I hope you guys aren't getting bored of my pics. These are a little dark, but they're decent pics anyway.

Here's another Inferalanis. I have 4, but they're all jumping around.

Those are ugliest frogs I've ever seen, Homer. Why don't you borrow your wife's camera and take some decent pictures for a change? They are probably even uglier than they look.

I've been keeping track of your newest vivarium, most atrocious, as usual-- These constant assaults upon my aristocratic, superior, aesthetic nature have turned my eyeballs green. I'm picking up my Mayan temple that my son sculpted for my next project in three days, at his ranch 20 miles from Elko,(on my way to court in Reno to answer for a charge of contempt of court.) How is your totem coming along?

Thanks for your left-handed compliment! My totem hasn't even been started . . . I'm embarrassed to say. Indeed, I haven't even been out to cut any more osage orange (please don't kill me). On the one day I did have the opportunity, the weather just didn't cooperate.

I want to see a picture of your temple when you bring it home.

As for court matter, I would say you have every right to hold some courts in contempt (oh, that's not what you meant . . . heavy sarcasm indicated)!

I just picked up 4 of these myself and they are much nice frogs than I believed them to be. Excellent markings on them.

Thanks, Matt. As for the difference between the Alanis and Inferalanis . . . I'm not entirely clear. I have seen some use the names interchangeably (i.e. Patrick at Saurian), while others post different pics of two slightly different marked morphs (and supposedly the Inferalanis is larger). However, I really don't know. I don't even know the collection location differences between the two, or whether they are truly distinct morphs (some have argued they are not). I won't even pretend that I have this figured out . . . because I don't.

They are a great looking frog, though. However, they seem to take some time to settle in, and stress seems to affect them more than other tinc-types in my limited experience. I darn well better have a pair in there, but we'll find out soon enough. They are pretty good sized already.
