Hey Guys and gals Im new to this Forum. My question is what CITES is a Cordylus Gigantius ( Sungazer ) I see on the net it is appendix 2 but someone I know at a pet store says its not updated that it is a appendix 1 I am wanting to sell my Sungazer but dont want to break any Laws Please Help?

The Sungazer (Cordylus Giganteus) is listed as CITES APP I now. This does not mean you can not sell it but that it can not be imported other by zoological institutions. Also you should check with the USF&W to find out if it is listed as an ESA animal. If it is listed as an ESA animal then you will only be able to sell it within your state unless both you and the buyer must have the USF&W captive bred Permit for that species.

Well I know I read on the CITES website a while back that the Sungazer had been upgraded to APP I but I can't find it now and what I can find shows they are still listed as APP II. So I would recommend to anyone that needs to really know to contact USF&W Division of Management Authority and they can tell you exactly what they are listed as now with CITES.

I checked and the Sungazer is Appendix 2 animal. The animal is captive bred from zoo with proper cites paper work that states the animal is appendix 2. Thanks Rob for all the good info. Now I can sell the girl.
