I'm not an expert or one to judge. I'm going to give you the advice I've received on this forum.

First of all get a thermostat. The one I use is the Big Apple Herp Power Proportional Thermostat.

go to heating, then to heating controllers. I find it to be one of the best thermostats cuz it can do a lot of cool stuff, and is one of the most reliable. Plus it's not too expensive.

I use a heat mat and a ceramic heat emmiter for now, but I'm going to change to Pro-products' heat panels. They, I hear, are top notch panels to use. You connect that to your thermostat.

Bob Pound is the guy who will help you at Pro-Products. He is really cool and will tell you exactly which one you need for your setup when you call him. He will ask you how big your setup wil be and the amount of venting, and the average room temp etc etc. Use those. You can find the number on the website.

I also use the Pro-Products' misting system to humidify my cage.

Goodluck.

First, lose the caps...really annoying to read. I would HIGHLY recommend going with a pro product radiant heat panel. We use them almost exclusively at the wildlife center I direct and they are the sole heat source used for our burmese pythons (and other large constrictors). You will simply love these panels, they look great, are easy to install, are very heat efficient, have a long life and are the finest heating device on the market...period. You can't go wrong.

Sounds to me like you are talking about a vision. If you scroll down all the burmese pages, you will find at least 10 threads about heating visions, even if yours isnt a vision, the same methods apply. I have a 4 foot vision which I think is a great cage, and once you get your burm out of his glass tank, he will be alot happier. Anyways for my heating I use a 75 watt heat bulb in the heat shroud, and 2 (11"x11" cobra heat pads uder the cage. One is right under the heat lamp, and the other is in the middle of the cage. I keep all 3 of these heat sources on a big apple thermostat which keeps the temps just right. Its about 93 on the far left, in the middle its about 85, and on the far right its about 80. I was also considering the pro products heat panels becuase I have heard nothing but praise for them. They are supposivley the best heat source on the market. When I move my burm into a bigger cage ( about 1 year) that is the heat source I will be using. Hope I'm not forgetting anything.

you should have those two domes and 2 1ft by 3ft pieces of heat tape. you will also need to get a reostat for the heat tape because it will get too hot. Or you can get a couple of heating pads from exerds or someplace like that. That is what i have in my burms cage and he does well with those.
