Google is your friend: www.google.com "delta dash"

Types of Animals
We ship most types of animals and reptiles. However, live snakes or venomous reptile shipments will only be accepted from approved shippers.
Reptile Containers
Note: Reptiles are only accepted as air cargo, not as carry-on or checked baggage.
If you have questions about shipping your pet as air cargo or you want to book a flight, please contact a Delta Air Logistics professional at 888-736-3738.
Reptiles, other than snakes, need to be placed in a container constructed of wood, plastic or corrugated material. For flight purposes, animals in this category include:
caiman, chameleons, frogs, geckos, iguanas, lizards, newts, salamanders, toads.
Safety and security concerns for Delta personnel and customers prevent removal of live snake shipments from shipping containers.

>Does the order arive on the same day it is shipped...
Yes, depending on the length of the flight.

>and if so what is a good time to take the package to the post office...
The post office has NOTHING to do with it. YOU take the package to the airport and the receiver picks the package up at his/her airport. No home delivery or pickup.

Yes, unless they make some very special arrangement with a separate vendor that makes local deliveries within their city. But, Delta Dash is airport-to-airport.
As far as cost, I **believe** it runs about $70-80, probably depends on the length of the flight, similar to human cost. Whoever answers that phone number given in the first reply can assist you with flight times, costs, packaging needed, etc.
Heat packs likely necessary during the winter...

I just got a snake from texas via delta dash to upstate NY and it cost 75, which seems about standard. the guys at the office where I picked her up said they even get venomous ones through there. I was pleased with their service (though the shipper had to get to his airport at 5:30 and their computers were down and they almost wouldn't take the package...), especially since it's so cold here it's good to know my hog came off the plane and into the office so she'd be safe
