It's that time of year for Spilotes!
Mine always bred in January.
Have you ever bred them before?
Just fyi...LIVE is the key to get the babies to feed. You should not need any scent manipulation, but try live fuzzies that are big enough to crawl around.
Lots of movement is the key. They are big enough as newborn to eat even crawlers.
Good Luck,
Dean Alessandrini
Last year I had 2 fertile eggs...but the babies died inside the eggs at the end of the incubation period. One baby was slightly malformed on the lower jaw (and maybe on the back), but the other one looked to me like normal. I don't know why they died...
Now I have 2 adult females, and I really hope...I love Spilotes !
Thanks for your interest and your kindness!
Ruggero
