"Moss Back" Candoia

rearfang Jan 11, 2004 09:15 AM

Several years ago I purchased a pair of Candoia that were identified by the name "Moss Backs" They were small, the female being about 15-17" and gravid the male was under a foot. There was no zig-zag pattern and the blotches on the basicly gray snakes were gray-brown and overlayed with moss like splotches of pale green and blue. The man said they were a rare (dwarf)form and to tell the truth, I have seen none of this kind since. Any idea on what they might have been? The bad news was they did not live long-apparently needing cooler temps (no AC) than I could supply at the time (things you find out too late).

It's not my area and the research was driving me nuts!
Talk about a lack of info (on line) group of snakes. I put the page on favorites. Thanks again. Frank
