Well, there are Texas Ratsnakes, and there are Yellow Ratsnakes.........Is this snake a hybrid? Some say that Texas rats can be nippy, but it really depends on the individual snake and how it is handled. If possible, handle the snake and find out if it seems to have a decent attitude. What else can the seller tell you (or show you)? Is it feeding well, and does it look healthy? Most of your North American Ratsnakes have pretty much the same care requirements as corns (which ARE North American Ratsnakes). The one you are talking about will eventually get bigger than a corn, hybrid or not. Finally, these are not expensive snakes, especially if it IS a hybrid, which lots of folks look down on a bit. Don't pay much more than you would for a cornsnake. Good luck Duffy
