New Beardie week 2: Some Questions

SaveFerris Jan 11, 2004 10:18 AM

With my chameleon they say its a warning sign if they 'nap' during the day. Is that the same with beardies? My guy will often nap or close his eyes and rest. Is that normal?

This guy has BAD aim!! When feeding him he has twice bit me (definately on accident) He loves to chomp chunks of mango from my hands but he consistantly aims ABOVE the food its quite awkward hand feeding him. He's shedding and maybe this is the problem?

and get it checked, parasites and worms can cause this also.

Baby are sometimes really lousy in the bullseye department, another reason we recommend avoiding sands for them as a substrate.

At least he is trying to eat and that is good!

Also check that your SURFACE basking temps are high enough 95-105 minimum, they need that to properly digest their foods or it just sits and spoil in their tummies and can cause problems.

Are you giving him greens and veggies also? Fruits are not as important to them as those are and protein. Rep-cal pellets moistened make a good topping for salads along with insect prey food.
