Who is the best reptile supplier (consensus)

shuler06 Jan 11, 2004 01:50 PM

Just wondering who out there gives you the most bang for the buck? I'm talking everything from hides to heat bulbs to vermiculite. I know there are a lot of you out there that have been doing this longer than I have, so I wanted your opinions.

Thanks,

Tim

I've had really good dealings with Herpsupplies.com, but can't really complain about The Bean Farm or LLL, either. I wouldn't order another animal from Reptile Depot, but they aren't too bad for supplies, at least not when I was in Japan.

How are the geckos doing Tim? I hope they are doing well? If you have pics of them post them so I can see how big they've gotten.

reptiledirect.com - has the best prices and excellent service. They've even got nice shipping options, which some other places don't really offer. If you just need general herp supplies, this is an excellent way to stock up to save on shipping.

petguys.com - also has fantastic prices and speedy service, but they don't specialize in just herp supplies so you may not be able to find all that you need. They've still got cheap UTHs and rheostats though, so you should check them out!

thebeanfarm.com - is excellent! I like shopping from them because they've got a more personal touch to their service. If you have questions about what you should buy, they can actually answer your questions. This is where you can find more specialized herp supplies like breeding equipment, heat tape, medical supplies, cleaning solutions, etc.

revivalanimal.com - doesn't have herp stuff at all, but they've got the best prices (that I can find) for Albon, Panacur, Pyrantel Pamoate, etc. They also sell the 1cc oral syringes for feeding medicine.

To be honest, I wasn't really impressed with lllreptile.com. You're not really saving much by buying supplies from them, and the shipping wasn't that great.

I think those are all the places I've shopped at, unless you count petsmart.com.
