Vitamin supplements for beardies

hjk Jan 11, 2004 03:06 PM

What is the best vitamin supplement for beardies. I have found two that I am trying to choose from. They are Rep-Cal Herptivite Multivitamin and ZooMed Reptivite Reptile Vitamins. Thanks.

Of the two you listed, I would choose the herptivite. If you are interested in making supplementing easier, I would look into the t-rex sandfire superfoods for BD's. They have the calcium and vitamins in one supp. in safe levels. They also contain macro nutrients like protien, carbs and fat...good stuff. They were designed to be used daily, and take the guesswork or planning out of supplementing.

Are you talking about the Dragon Dust Instant Cricket Balancer? They also have the Veggie Growth Formula and the Veggie Maintenance Formula. All this supplement stuff is confusing, lol. I just want to make sure I got everything right. And if I can have the vitamins and calcium in the same supplement that will be great.

Yes, those are the supps. I am talking about. T-rex markets the 3 you listed. The should get the cricket dust and the veggie growth if you dragon is still growing. The veggie growth just has more protien and a little higher d3. If you use these two supps. I promise you that you will not need a seperate calcium and vitamin, it is all in there. You can use the supps. every feeding also. You would lightly coat crix with the ICB dust, and coat the veggies with the VGF. It does not matter what kind of veggie you use either, because the food is actually the dust.
good luck

Thanks for the help. Do you know of any site to get them both from at the same time. I have found the veggie one on reptiledirect and the insect one on lllreptile. I can order stuff from two different sites, but that means i pay even more with shipping for both. All the petstores around here want and arm and a leg for them, but after shipping it might be worth it. I'm gonna have to check into it.

I was going to suggest herpsupplies.com, but they are on vacation. Petco.com has both of them for a little more money.
good luck

I use the Rep-Cal herpvite about 2-3 times a week, and the Rep-Cal calcium w/ D3 about 5-6 times a week.
