I was wondering if anyone has seen the cribo photo in "A Field Guide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of the Maya World" by Julian C. Lee. It's just labeled Drymarchon corais but it appears to be a melanurus (the black tail is visible in the pic. What's strange is that the cribo's body color is a deep burgandy color. I know these guys can be pretty variable but I hadn't seen one like this before.
Since this book seems to focus on the Yucatan peninsula, I'm wondering if this coloration is typical of cribos from this area.
