I'm going to build a water monitor cage, and i was wondering what type of clear materials would be strong enough. thanks

Not to sure what you are asking here. Are you trying to make the whole cage out of clear material? That could be quite expensive. I used 1/4" plexi in my cage for the "window", and the rest is ply. My cage is didn't turn out well and I'm looking to rebuid. Here are some things I've learned.
1. A whole room works best for this monitor. A cage worked for me since mine only gre to 3'.
2. The cage should have a water filtration system. Changing the 10 gal tub daily gets to be a pain. In my next cage I plan to use a 50 gal rubbermade stock tank that drains out to a bucket that has a pump/filter that puts the water back. This takes the work out and the monitor happy.
3. Sliding glass doors. I didn't put sliding doors in and cleaning is kinda difficult.

Just some things to think about while your tring to come up with a design.

Good luck to you

thanks for your help. i was actually planning on giving the cage a metal frame, possibly a wooden back, and then clear sides. My monitor will basically have its own room, but still needs an enclosure for most of the time. So plexi-glass would be strong enough? that water filtering system sounds like a great idea. thanks.

Yes plexi is strong enough, just get the 1/4". If it's to expensive I'd go tempered glass. The water idea is wishful thinking for now. If I design it, I'll post plans. Let me know how it truns out
