My male tokay has never called. I was wondering if I split my pair up into their own tanks across from each other would the male call out to the female??

How do you know he has never called? Are you home all day and sleep like a log at night? Just wondering cause I dont hear mine very often...pretty much when I get lucky.

Anyhow, seperating a pair in almost 100% of cases leads to very frequent calling of the male.

My male almost never calls, and when he does it's around 3 to 4 A.M. The only exception to this was when his first mate died(from excessive egg laying), he was calling almost constantly until I brought home 2 more females. It wasn't the usual mating call, though; more like he was very sad.
