Very Confused..(long)

jananicole66 Jan 11, 2004 10:42 PM

Okay, I am quite confused at the moment.
Today I helped my leo shed, she had pieces stuck to her nose/eye area, and ha dbeen there for a day and she had no success in getting them off. So I got a q tip and some bottled water, and rubbed lightly on it.. she quickly caught on that this was to help her and she willingly rubbed against the q-tip, we succeeded in removing the skin from her eye area, and she walked away.
So she was fine, but i come home a few hours later, and turn my light on, she wakes up.. but proceeds to walk around her cage wiht both her eyes closed.... until finally she goes into a hide...
whats going on?

She could have some shed in her eyes still. She may be able to lick it out, or you may need to take her to a vet or get some saline and flush her eyes with it. I have a male who this happened to and he has never been the same I flush his eyes with saline the vet gave me.

it's jsut weird cause like 3 hours ago, she was fine...and i got all the shed off..

The shed gets stuck right under the eyelid, sometimes you have to carefully pull back the lid with a tweezers to see it. But if this only happened a few hours ago, let her be, her eyes may just be a bit irritated...

Maybe her eyes are just a little sore from the stuck skin. If it goes on for more than a day or two i'd take her to a vet.
