Yes, it's perfectly normal that the beardies have bubbles in their mouths while gaping.

I would definitly give your beardie something else to eat than just collard greens until you can get more crickets. Buy some pellets (juvenile/growth formula), and try to get him to eat them. Also, provide a good variety of greens and fruits. Check out the food chart at http://www.beautifuldragons.com/

Beardies should have a varied diet. Only one kind of leaf won't do it.

i have the juvie beardie pellets, they sayhey are the only soft moist pellets, but they aren't very soft or moist at all, i think that they are zoo med, but i'm not positive, anyways, anyone have any good pointers on how to use these, cuz when you soak them they just fall apart, thanks again

If you soak them too long, they will fall apart and/or become mush. An easier way to soften them, I found, is to put them in your hand and run warm water over them. When they are soft, put them in the dish. That way they are not in standing water and turning into a big mess.

I think those are the same pellets I use, and although they don't feel very soft, my beardie has no problems eating them without soaking. In fact, she seems to enjoy crunching away on them! I also use pellets from T-Rex, and I always soak those in water before serving.
