Vet appointment

jananicole66 Jan 12, 2004 09:18 AM

Well, I made an appt with "parrots to ferrets" for wednesday, for Aries.. this morning she had one eye opened but was still licking at them both so i decided to make an appointment.. oh well at least she will get examined, even if there nothing wrong but a little irritation..
Man 51 dollars for an examination.. pets are expensive! i called around to a few places and some did reptiles but recommended i take her to Parrots to Ferrets , since they specialize in exotics.. Plus, everyone else said their fees were like 46 so i might as well pay 51 and go to the best right?
God, one vet add said they deal with canine, feline, exotics.. so i call and ask what their exam fee is for a gecko.. the girls like "a what??"

Yeah, vet appointments are up there (Try New York Animal Clinic, it's $100 for the first visit and $100 for a fecal!). Usually it's only the first appointment that costs that much though, and successive appointments are cheaper.

My vet here at Mich. charges me $35 for the first time visit, and $15 for a fecal, which I'm glad for, but I sometimes question her methods and her knowledge.
