I have had this pair of firebellies for a few months now and they have been doing great and eating well. I keep their environment clean and declorinate the water and let it sit for days before adding it to their enclosure. Their temps are about 75 degrees (air temp) and 78 degrees (water temp). I've done all sorts of research on how to build them the proper set up and haven't had any problems until now.
One of my firebellies is getting dark and has this greyish looking stuff on his mouth and around his eyes. He also opens his mouth and makes a little clicking noise and refuses to eat. Is this what they look like before they shed? I've never seen this before and can't find anything about this online. Does anyone know what this could be?
Thanks for any help on this! I will be taking him to the vet if he doesn't improve today.
