agressive califonian

hi im new to king snakes but ive had snakes such as boas and pythons since i was to but i recently got into colubreds which my coloction is groing and im starting to enjoy the most, but i recently bought a new californian desert phase and hes agressive and comes after you i have other snakes that do this but its just a bluff but this one meens it I was just wonering if this is normal for them and if anyone thinks frequent hanling will help so far it has not

Most california kings are a lil nippy when they are young... but if you handle them on a reg basis the tame down very well.

A tip I used when I was taking care of a friends macklots and savu pythons(which IMO are VERY nippy) was to put on latex gloves like the ones mom used to wear to do the dishes. For some reason they hate the taste, but that's just a guess. All I know is that they woudn't bite any more. You don't have to keep wearing the gloves. Hope this helps-Smokey

I'm sorry this happened, I've got the same problem also, but all you need to do is handle the snake, only putting him/her back when its calm. What I do is whenever my snake is out I go and talk to it or just stand by the tank and look at it and occasionally move so he gets used to it and isn't bothered too much by people. Good luck
