FIRST POST,
Hello to all. This is my first try at Chameleons. I did a lot of reading and decided to create an "open cage" centered around two hanging plants. I have two Jackson, and so far so good. Anyone else try this?

Yes, quite a few keepers do it. However, if the cham decides there isn't enough "space" (a wide enough spectrum of warm to cool, humid to dry) in those plants he may wander, so be prepared. It will take you a while to figure out what he thinks he wants in his territory and provide it. Once he has what he wants he'll tend to stay put most of the time. It may be harder to keep his area humid if your house is dry, so look into a humidifier you can aim at his plants.
PS. There's an article on free ranging Meller's chams at this site you could read for ideas.
