Dragon Bite

beardiedragon Jan 12, 2004 12:32 PM

I have a new assistant to help out with all my animals. She went to feed a group of Beardies that are 4 months old. She put her hand in the cage and one of them jumped at her and bit her finger hard enough to draw a bit of blood. They have never been aggresive to me or my wife or kids.

My guess is the Beardie went after her red nail polish. the bright red combined with feeding time frenzy was enough to have an accident.

so beware of bright colorful nail polish! (I guess)

BTW my assistant is now removing her nail polish and going with a pastel color.

spike bit me a while back.. really hard.. and i was wearing nail polish. and all my lil babes would nip at my fingers when i had it on. i haven't had any real biting problems since i stopped wearing it. save for peppie my 5 month old monster who last week decided to bite my finger not once but twice on two different days... hard enough to draw blood. but he is an exception because he is a lil agresssive and always ALWAYS hungry.

I'm sorry to hear that your assistant was on the menu for lunch. I didn't even think about nail polish attracting beardies like that. Maybe that's because I don't wear any! HA!

LOL

I wear nail polish on purpose with all my young babies. This way they get used to it just incase their "eventual" owners wear it!
