Strange blackish hard bumps on a Jackson

devour Jan 12, 2004 02:30 PM

My female Jackson who is suffering from numerous problems has three odd bumps on her. They don't look like calcium deposits they are black raised and hard one has a hole in it. The scales around the dark part are lighter than the rest of her. She's had one on her side for a while and now two on her tail. They make her tail look bent at a strange angle. Do you think this is a parasite damaging her skin or strange calcium deposits? With all the vomiting she probably hasn't been getting enough calcium.

We have one male that got a few bumps (all on his tail). They were dark and raised (looked like volcanoes rising from his skin). I thought they were wart-like in nature. The vet confirmed that they were fungal nodes. We removed them and medicated with SSD cream - they did not return.

I took detailed pictures of them before removal - if you want to compare those to your female... drop us a line. reptayls@yahoo.com

The removal is easier than it sounds - you just need to tend to the raw skin carefully afterwards. Have you figured out what is causing the vomiting yet? If she is stressed by her current condition - it won't hurt to leave the bumps for a bit longer.

Hope this helps,
