333, the number of the beasts...

obz Jan 12, 2004 04:37 PM

ok so i got a little excited this birthing season on the surinames, but can you blame me? 3.3 '03 surinames from various breeders (333, half way there, looks like ill be a busy guy in '06 [}][]).
each of them have been posted before, but i thought the group shots were cool. very interesting to compare the variation in color, size, and pattern of 6 boas all born the same year.

.. are smokin! Geez.. louise.. buddy, you have a very good eye for Surinames. I'm thinking in about 5 years there will be some babies that will stomp a lot of the competition..

Wow...

thanks for the compliment on the 'choosing' skills gus, i love them too, but i think if i ever manage to produce a litter of BCCs the last thing i would consider other breeeders is 'competition'. while everyone IS trying to sell babies at the same time of year i suppose, and that creates some copetiton. i think that theres enough demand for real CBB BCC that all quality breeders should be able to reccomend each other when theyre sold out of 'screamers' or just dont have quite what the collector is looking for.

thanks for the compliment gus, and likewise on your ARMY of boas, i never tire of seeing new pics of your insular boas in particular.

Great pics bro. Did you use the flash? If not, what did you use for lighting?
Take care,
Eric

hey eric, yeah i DID use the flash on those pics, jusrt cause, you get 6 boas together on a chair and its squiggly worm time! so it was hard enough to keep them all in frame, let alone lit nicely so yeah flash for that. i DO use a GR 'reveal bulb' with indoor lighting set on the white balance, for the more 'portraity' shots.. heres some of those just for kicks.

(not my chondro, but a cool pic, i was baby sitting him over the Xmas break for a friend)

the only reffernce i was hinting at with 06 was 3.3 in 03 is 333, well 6.6 in 06.... nevermind, bad joke. i would never 'predict' the year any of these guys wants to get wiggley.

also, i meant to say 'GE reveal' bulb. just a regular drafting desk lamp, and a 60-100 watt GE reveal bulb, set your white balance and exposure, and the pics should come out pretty good.
