I have close to 100 now.
there are some problems like sand in the tracks but that happens with all bypass doors and I prefer that when handling Beardies. Changing lightbulbs is a royal pain unless you get the cages with the large channel in the back but then it doesn't hold heat well. Mount UV lights inside or the screening cuts out half of the UV. The nice thing is they are almost indestructable and easy to clean. Compared to wood they are very light.

Bennett, everytime I see those photos of your cages, I gasp and hold my breath in disbelief. You are truly dedicated to what you do and you have one heck on an amazing set up!

wow, that is awsome! what models do you use?
brandon
222, 332, 422 If you use the 422 you will probably want extra lights but they will spend most of their time on the hot side.

you seem to know you're visions...you have a ton of 'em! how do you think the 433 would work? i don't keep nearly as many dragons, and i like the added height for climbing. any thoughts? also, what wattage bulbs do you use? dop you have any problems with warping or melting of the plastic?
thanks for the replies!

It's a bit tall for me as a breeder. Space is valuable. I have one that I use for a display tank for my 9 ft carpets. If you have the room it would be great for beardies. You can give them a nice high perch for basking. lots of room in there. I would say a 100w halogen would work for basking. If your going all out, use a double florecent fixture mounted inside as well. as far as heat from the lights, if you use a vision with a round compartment for the small dome light it can bubble the cage above it (50W light), but that wont hurt it. what you do have to be concerned with is if the light tips and does not sit flat. this can melt the plastic.

OK Vision King. LOL. I have a question. I have 2 vision 332 and have stacked them (2X4 seperating them). I have ordred the 5.5 dome with ceramic socket. Will a 60 watt bulb be sufficient to bring the basking spot up to 105 or should i consider a a higher wattage (can that dome handle it)? I am setting things up now for arrivals of juveniles in spring. I currentely have 2 15" fixtures in each (an 8.0 in one and a 5.0 in the other). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I stack mine 4 high. nothing seperating them. I use a 50W zoo-med basking light plus 18" florecent fixture. Different brand lights produce different heat as do flood vs spot. The bottom cage does not get as hot since there is no heat rising from below it. (those animals usually brumate first). they all have a basking spot about 115. temps vary with the amount of sand and hight of basking spot. Wood chips dont hold the heat as well as the sand. I need a 100W for the cages with wood. ambient temps also will make a difference as will the air flow in the room.
BTW the wood chips are for my Rhino Igs not beardies.
