*PICS* TRUE super hypo tangerine...no ray hine, dominant hypo or "carrottail" blood

SFgeckos Jan 12, 2004 04:51 PM

i remember someone saying they were seeing alot of super hypo carrottails with yellow bodies advertised with the word "tangerine"...i agree that it is very hard sometimes to accurate portray the true body coloration of an animal- additionally, there are varying ranges of "tangerine" or "orange" which is based solely on personal opinion.

what i may consider "yellow" might be someone else's "orangish", and so forth..anyways i just wanted to post a pic of one of my favorite females. in my opinion she is a true super hypo tangerine- orange head, overall orange body coloration...very VERY close to matching the orange coloration on her tail- but not 100%...guess i gotta work on that part lol

ps- no, i didnt throw down hundreds of dollars for her, she was produced by me over two years ago through (luck and) selective breeding from independent line "tangerine" parents which had reduced spots. oh yeah, no special incubation was done either =P

I would say that is a true super hypo tang..... Most of the others I see listed as super hypo tangs look nothing like that..... Awesome leo.... Camers flash will not turn an orange leo yellow..... And if it does the seller should take more pics until he or she gets the true or closest to true color of the leo......

its a strain that was produced through many generations of selective breeding... i got my animals from monte meye @ power geckos and these buggers are pure tangs and show some hypo and super hypo not relayted to anything... i have pics only of my male... his name is maynard
maynard is actually more orange/red than the pic but the flash washed him out but you get the idea... i will let monte explain the whole line

Last season some one sold me F1 from Wild caught and both were Hypo and bit og organe. They only laid 1 egg and hatched as red, very simlar to Rodent Groument Stock. I still has her. She is bright Hypo Tang out there. Short looks like Kelli's Hypo Carrottail cross Hypo Tangerine named King.
