she just started doing this the last 2 days. never did this before. what dose this mean? is she going to lay eggs for me? she is really digging around like she is trying to get to china or something! please let me know what you think i am a frist timer with leo eggs (if that is whats happening).......thank you ..................duane

I dont know... but my male AFT does this too and youre right... it is a little curious. I wonder why too...

Duane, my female has dug for two-three days prior to laying. Good luck, sounds like you have some EGGS!!

Well it doesn't really mean anything for certain. Both my male and female spend time in the humid hide and they both like digging around every once in a while.
My female spends an exceptionally long time in the humid hide though when she is laying eggs... like she will go in there at night, be in there all the next day during the day and then that night leave and go to her "regular" hiding/sleeping spot to rest up before she gets eatting like a pig again. She does bury the eggs very well though so be carefull if you plan on incubating the ones that your female may lay.
So just be patient and be gentle with the eggs when they come!

Well..I'd first make sure that there are no eggs in there. Then mist it like you normally would. And leave her alone. I mean, I handled my female a whole bunch without any ill effects. But I don't know. May just be this female. She'll dig until she finds the suitable depth. (Which is probably near the bottom)Then mine covered them up and layed ontop of them. Just make sure not to tip the eggs over when you remove them to your incubator.

Just keep doing things the way you have been doing them. Make sure the bedding material inside of the humid hide is good and moist. (Personally I find it dries out pretty fast so I just add some warm water from the tap every couple of days and stir it up with my hands until it is good and saturated. Misting is a waste of time for me.) I also like to leave is loose and not packed down like you were asking if you should pat it back down. Either just leave it or stir it up and leave it loose. She'll like to get in there and continue digging around. Anyways.. good luck!

It could be eggs but it could also be just that...digging. My geckos dig all the time in their hides making this little nook that they sleep in but Ive also seen my female do it a few days before laying. My opinion (and its just that..an OPINION) is that if shes digging considerably, almost like she has OCD, chances are its eggs.

my frist leo eggs! the bead a beast stuff stuck all over them will this hurt them? also they are veary soft what is a good way to pick these things up? i had a hard time with them. she JUST layed them! i cant wait to see if everything comes out ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!thank you guys for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!duane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
