here are some choices

spinytailed iguana:around 3 foot
green water dragonver 3 foot
bearded dragon:around 2 foot
blue tongue skink:around 2 foot
sudan and giant plated lizards:around 2 foot
jeweled lacerta:around 2 foot
sheltopusik:around 4 foot

hope this little list helps.if you are interested in handling your animal i would go with a sheltopusik as these are usually a dog tame lizard and they also are legless!

Funny... I have a scar on my thumb from a sheltopusik at a pet store. I'm sure he just hadn't been tamed, but i'm depressed that my only noticable scar is from an animal that's not mine!

"The serpent crams itself with animal life that is often warm and vibrant, to prolong an existence in which we detect no joy and no emotion. It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."

well if your going to get a savanna you must plan for when it gets big.The first reptile show i went to i got a 12 inch savanna and now he is 3 foot long and since we have no room for a new cage we will give him to a knowledgable keeper who will keep him outside during the summer months and inside during the winter(it is a zoological park).I would love to keep him as he is quite tame but i still live with my parents(im 14).

I've had a sav before...nice lizards (exept when they try to eat ther basking rock) He broke his jaw and there was nothing we could do about it. Ok I talked to my mom about the lizard her is what she sez "no bigger than 3.5 feet long" so I was thinking a blue tounge skink. What do yall think?

ive never owned a blue tongue before.ive heard they are great pets.they get about 2-2 adn a half fooot long.although if you end up not deciding on these here are a few animals i came up with

bearded dragons
uromastx
plated lizards

these are all relativly easy to care for except the uros and they can be problematic.

Uh... He broke his jaw and you "couldnt do anything about it"? Did you bring him to a vet? If you can't get vet coverage for animals, then I'd seriously reconsider it, it's not fair to the animal.

Of coarse I took it to the vet. He told me it was to small to do anything with. I'm sorry it happened but [bleep] happens and I would have done anything for him but they said he was to small to do surgery on.

You think tegus are a medium sized lizard? The tegus I have seen (both online in pics & in person) are huge, about 4 feet long, 12lbs. I want a tegu but do not have the space for one right now. Anyway, I was thinking medium was more along the lines of beardie, water dragon, or maybe even a blue tongue skink or prehensile-tailed skink? The site below tells which lizards are smaller than average, larger than average, etc. It gives good info but I found some of it to be incorrect.
