Hi Im new to this forum, i have a young female rhino and she dont like being picked up. she will bite , tailwhip , and spray me with that yucky stuff( i think you know what i mean). I have two big water monitors and they are always well behaved but not her. any tips that can help me calm her down?

She just needs to be tamed. (I didn't know that any iguanid did the poop-on-the-handler trick; that's what PO'd monitors do, too)

Follow the Who's the Boss method in this site:

Don't try to do it the slow way, I believe that just stresses them more with all the suspense.

This has good ig taming instructions, too:

Download the file and scroll way down to the taming section.

I like Roger's suggestions, but will emphasis that some have had alot of luck with warm baths. I once had an untame loaner rhino that tamed down after seeing how my other rhinos reacted to me. In general rhinos get tamer with age, provided they are always consistently treated well and not injured while attempting to handle.
