Those dwarf indies

A.C. Jan 12, 2004 09:33 PM

Tell me...can the breeder spot an indigo that is going to be one of those dwarves that stop growing at 3-4' AT BIRTH?

Also, has anyone seen this in the cribos??? I have only seen it in erebennus and couperi. Is there any proof out there that this is directly and solely caused by inbreeding?

I saw a wild caught male Texas indigo about 8 years ago fitting your description - a little over three feet, adult-size head, thick body. Only such indigo I've ever observed.

classifieds lately. The people selling them have honestly depicted them as non breeder pet quality. I also saw one that Serpent's Den had at the NARBC. He was straight up about it as well, saying that he drove many miles for a female couperi and found her on the other end! What a shame.

The one that I had showed nothing as a hatchling that would lead you to believe it was a dwarf. My first sign that something was wrong was the growth rate was s-l-o-w
