Pottery in the viv

Arklier Jan 13, 2004 04:09 PM

I was thinking about ways to design my new viv, it's nearly a cube so there's lots of 3D space. While I was looking around the pet store, I spotted an aquarium decoration that looked like a vase or jug. It didn't look very realistic, but it got me thinking about the water feature in the viv I'm building. I'm thinking about buying a jug and cutting part of it out so that it lies at an angle on the bottom of the viv. The pump would sit underneath, and pump water out of the mouth. What pottery might be safe?

Hey There,

The Naturalistic Vivarium is an online group that can really help out with those questions and ideas, see the link below.

There is a wealth of information on the website including extensive Files, Links and photo’s sections.

Regarding teh potery- almost any would be safe that are "sealed"- or use clay pots- those are safe as well. Good luck.
