Leopard Gecko Health Problem

blimeyzawn Jan 13, 2004 04:10 PM

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. Hope you don't mind if I just jump right in. I have a seven month old female leopard gecko who has suddenly demonstrated no interest in food. It also appears that she is having some discharge from her cloaca. She's been generally lethargic and just seems unwell. There's a possibility that she could be gravid, but I'm not sure and don't know if this could be a symptom of inability to lay eggs or what. Any advice anyone might have would be great. Thanks!

I know that sometimes they can be difficult to find but, I highly recommend that you bring your leopard gecko to the vet. I am not a herpatologist and you can't have your leo thoroughly examined except in person. I have been around gravid female leos for some years now and they do exibit loss of appetite, but do not secrete anything and their mood should stay the same, except if handled they will be a little touchy. I think the best thing to do is to take your leo to a vet that works with reptiles.
