"Egypts greatest pharoahs" on the History Channel

JM Jan 13, 2004 05:09 PM

I just watched "Egypts greatest pharoahs" on the History Channel, and at the end of the program the show Cleopatra kill herself with the "Asp"...........for which they used a rather fat Ball Python.

I know, it's not like they are going to go playing with a venomous snake~ but maybe they could have at least used a scarlet king, or something else that looks something like a venomous snake........nope, they used a nice fat BP, and did a nice close up of the BPs belly before they backed up the camera and showed the BP crawling up Cleopatra's arm to deliver the fatal bite.

I just thought it was funny!

They should have used a viper boa. Those really do look venomous. Supposedly most are mean but the ones I had where fine.

I saw the same thing on the Spanish channel...it had the bad music goin and a fat ball python creeping across the floor and they jerked it so make it look like it bit....and this spanish chick is flailin around screamin bloody murder and its got fang marks...so the guy throws the snake out the window...and gets a knife heats it up with a match and cuts the bite and starts to suck the blood....it cracked me up...
How stupid can people be?

In all seriousness it kind of makes things worse for snake keepers....people think a snake will bite for the hell of it cause of these movies and shows showing snakes just biting people.....

Just my 2 cents
Luke
