cunningham skinks

mitchstrat05 Jan 13, 2004 06:41 PM

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with breeding this species - how can you tell whether the female is pregnant, how many babies do they usually have, how long until babies are born?
Thanks,
Mitch

I have been trying to work with species for a short time. I have 2 males and a female. I can't seem to even introduce the female with either male without them shredding each other apart. Have you been able to successfully pair your female up with the male without fighting?

I only have 2 unsexed cunninghams at the moment. One is slightly larger than the other and it does bully the other one every now and then. The larger one is the one that I thought may be pregnant as it basks for much longer and has a bulging belly just in front of the rear legs,

Mitch

Hi again - how did you find out the sex of your skinks?

alot of species have sexual Dimorphism. Usually larger ones are male (unless it's an insect) and the males tend to have larger heads and more vibrantly colored bodies
