What is a good bulb brand

OrangeJuice Jan 13, 2004 08:40 PM

I made the mistake of hitting my 150 watt heat lamp while misting The Baron. The lamp jumped pretty high off the screen top when the bulb popped. Anyways, here is my question - What should I be looking for at Home Depot when I go and replace the one I got the pet store?

Sylvania Spot Bulb, wattage would depend on your set up. You can also use a normal household bulb as long as the temp reaches 100 degrees. A digital thermometer will tell you for sure.

I bought a 150W Infrared heat lamp bulb...I think I paid about $7.00 for it. (I have a 55 gallon set up and this will get my basking spot to around 100 degrees...during the winter I have to use an extra dome light with 100 W light bulb.)

Good luck.
