MOLD AND CLEANING ISSUES!!!

rockysnake Jan 14, 2004 09:05 AM

Hey people,

Sometimes my snakes, cage starts to develope mold in it. What products can I get to get rid of this or what techniques can I use to prevent this. I mean, what happens in their real environments?

The mold almost always occurs because I have to keep his tank humid and then it just happens.

Mold is usually caused by high humidity and low ventilation. I live in the UK and have found that using a dilute solution of Milton Fluid ( used to sterilise babies feeding bottles) sprayed onto the inside of my boxes and then wiped clean, has prevented mold occurring. It appears to kill off the mold spores and is completely ahrmless to the snakes.

You shouldn't be getting mold. Need to make some changes to your setup. What substrate are you using, what's your humidity at, etc. Need more info about your set-up. Post a pic if you can.
