Friend's cham

MisLegend Jan 14, 2004 02:18 PM

We used to have a panther cham until he died about 8 months ago. Our friends bought a baby panther cham at the reptile show in daytona last august. He doesn't look like he's any bigger since they've bought him.

I know our old cham was the same age (3 months) as their cham and he grew so much faster. In 8 months he was almost full grown. I know their cham is eating and his color is good. I know he's also a panther by the shape of his head. Did our cham just grow really fast or what? Any ideas?

There is no way to guess without more info. Some of it may be due to bloodline, more probably has to do with how well they gutload and supplement their cham, the temps and lighting intensity they have too. Sometimes chams grow in spurts and sometimes they are simply small adults.
