I need some supplementation advice

thechamhunter Jan 14, 2004 02:40 PM

I need to get on a supplementation schedule. I have Reptivite, Mineral Outdoor, Repcal Calcium with D3, and Repcal Herptivite. Any Ideas? For 4 month old panther and 8 month old panther. Should I dust lightly?

Some questions first. Are your chams indoors primarily? What are you gutloading with? What type of lighting do you use?

With this added info we could tell you more. There are opinions about what and how often to supplement (see discussions about UVB and D3 supplements further down in the forum). Generally, if chams are kept indoors under UV lighting you should rely mostly on a good gutload rather than dusts. They should be considered gap fillers or a backup to gutloading. Juvenile panthers rapidly growing probably need a mineral supplement with some D3 about twice a week. Adults once every 7-10 days. Herptivite or Reptivite probably once a week for juveniles and once every 3-4 weeks for adults.
