best feeding container for roach nymphs?

eppon Jan 14, 2004 05:31 PM

I got 30 orange-headed roach nymphs about four months ago and I finally saw some nymphs last night. yay! Problem is that I think they are too small to get into both the vegies and dry food containers I'm only using small jar lids as containers so I thought the sides were short enough.

Right now, I've been spraying the sides of their container and the substrate and leaving fruits/vegies on the ground, but don't want to put the dry stuff on the substrate.

What do you guys put roach food in?

I have discoid and dubia roaches. I use small plastic plant saucer as dishes and saw no problem with nymphs getting food to eat. Worst thing that happens is that when I turn on the lights, the nymphs dig into the food since they can't figure out how to get back out that fast. The substrate I use is aspen so some of it is always leaving a trail into the dish. The dish also does not sit on top of the substrate but down into it.
