I agree with Rader. How do you even know Amikacin is what you need? Amikacin doen not work for every pathogen that could be causing the RI, neither does Ceftazadime or Baytril. All are potentially dangerous drugs if used improperly or improperly dosed. Don't kill your snakes, go to a vet.

took one of my snakes to the vet..he did perscribe amakacin as I thought he would...these are imported snakes..also flagyl in concert with amakacin...was wondering if temps should be increased also?...I am aware necessity of increased hydration... thanks for the responces..

Yes, during any medical treatment in herps it is rec. to increase temps to the upper end of their optimum range to increase their metabolism. Good luck with your bloods.
