I plan to do some breeding in 2005or2006 depending on when I get the new dragons. If I build a incubator and use heat lamps will I have to block out light to the eggs? Would heat tape be easier/Simpler?
Thanks,
Matt

Heat tape is a lot more cost effective, easier to deal with, and less expensive in the long run. I just finished transforming an old upright freezer into an incubator and used 11 inch flexwatt heat tape and an electronic temperature controller. Seems to work great.
heat rope is safer to use for most people as there is no wiring involved just plug it in. My incubator is 4'x4'x2' and I have one rope on top and one on bottom under an insulated shield so heat rises along the sides and does not cook the eggs on the first shelf. I hook the heat rope to a helix and have never had a problem
