does humidity matter?

chuck420 Jan 14, 2004 10:46 PM

hey i was wondering...i found a different caresheet and it said most kings and milks do good at a relative humidity of 40- 60 my cal king is at about 35...i know it obviously matters alot more when shedding but i was wondering if u had to keep it in these levels?

Whats up chuck 420, my favorite time of the day, lol.

Anyways, cal.kings dont need humidity, as you said during sheding its good. What I do is just mist my snakes when they are in the blue, other than that I dont have much humidity at all, I keep water bowls with them at all times, for all my snakes except the rosys-(those should have no humidity if you have any rosys). So dont worry about that, some of the other lampropeltis can do well with a light mist here an there, I mist some of my hondos at times, I think they like it, they sit there and love it actually. I also live in the mtns where we have that cool dry air already-(thats why I keep mtn kings, I have the perfect place for them) but your cal.kings should be fine without it. Later,

ps- pictured is a wild caught verbenia locale cal.king female i caught back in spring of 2003, I have a male from there and they should breed in 2005.
